Evening All…

Evening All,

This is the first time I have written to the church, but after this morning I want to express a massive thank you to you all. (Sorry Pete for beating you to your ‘Morning All!’).

I’ve been reading 1 Thessalonians 5 tonight, where Paul gives advice to the church in Thessalonica (There is some great advice in there so it is certainly worth a read). In the middle of his letter, Paul reminds the church; “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

I don’t need to remind you to encourage each other, but wanted to thank you for encouraging me so much this morning. The church is a beautiful body and today I feel more encouraged than I ever have before. I was so nervous before this morning’s meeting, particularly when I arrived to find the school network was down and that I couldn’t print the words, music and pictures that I needed to!

Norman talked about upgrading our relationship with Jesus and taking steps of faith, and for me at least today was a fair few steps up the ladder and a huge upgrade to row five! We are told to “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (‭Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭8‬ NIV). I tasted so much good today.

The reason for so much of this is down to the you, the church. Thank you for embracing creativity and running with ideas. I have been in places which stifle creativity before and it is so good to be part of a body of people who love to explore Jesus. And thank you SO, SO much for the almost endless encouraging comments, text messages, Facebook messages and phone calls about this morning. You have well and truly built me up and you can’t imagine how much that means to me.

Back in Paul’s letter he tells us to “hold each other in love”. Today the church has left me feeling blessed, encouraged and very loved. It is another step of faith even to send this out to you but I want to encourage you for encouraging me so much!

You are a truly wonderful bunch of people and a great blessing to be a part of.

On Sunday we sang a new song during our worship time, a song called Cast My Cares by the amazing Tim Timmons. (If you don’t know his music and story I would highly recommend checking them out!)   In the week I came across Psalm 55:22, which says “Cast your cares on the Lord and He […]

Morning All, Monday 16th January, 2017 How I love the “tap tap” of God! He aims and puts two shots of his love into the target almost without drawing breath. The story of my life since April of last year has been “tap tap”…”Tap tap.” In April, twice I had people speak to me of […]
